Data Migration & Reconciliation Tester

About the Role

TestCrew | Quality Engineering & Software Testing is seeking an experienced Data Migration & Reconciliation Tester to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on validating data migration processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data from source to target systems, and verifying the integrity of historical data. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills and experience in ETL testing, data reconciliation, and data quality assessment, particularly within financial or banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate data migration activities to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across source and target systems.
• Perform source-to-target data reconciliation using SQL queries and other validation techniques.
• Verify historical data accuracy and ensure migrated records comply with business rules and requirements.
• Execute data migration test cases, including record count validation, field-level comparisons, transformation checks, and exception analysis.
• Support mock migrations, migration rehearsals, and cutover validation activities.
• Perform ETL validation to verify data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Identify, document, investigate, and track data discrepancies, defects, and reconciliation issues through resolution.
• Conduct data quality assessments to identify missing, duplicate, inconsistent, or invalid records.
• Validate financial data, including balances, transactions, account information, and other relevant financial records.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, developers, and functional teams to resolve migration-related issues.
• Prepare test reports, reconciliation reports, defect logs, and migration sign-off documentation.
• Support final migration validation and provide evidence to confirm data readiness for production deployment.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience in data migration testing, data validation, and source-to-target reconciliation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data comparison, complex queries, joins, aggregations, and validation checks.
• Experience in ETL testing and data warehouse validation, including extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Knowledge of data reconciliation techniques, data mapping, transformation rules, and migration testing methodologies.
• Experience in data quality assessment, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, and integrity checks.
• Experience validating historical data and identifying discrepancies between legacy and target systems.
• Understanding of financial data validation, including transaction records, account balances, and financial calculations.
• Experience supporting mock migrations, migration rehearsals, cutover activities, and post-migration validation.
• Ability to prepare test scenarios, test cases, defect reports, reconciliation results, and sign-off documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in banking, financial services, ERP, or other data-intensive enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with data profiling, data mapping documents, and automated data validation tools.
• Experience with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
• Exposure to migration projects involving legacy systems and modern target platforms.
