The Design Manager Role

As a Design Manager at Gensler in Riyadh, you will be responsible for managing all phases of projects, ensuring client satisfaction, quality control, and financial performance. This full-time role involves deploying resources to facilitate smooth work processes and acting as the primary liaison between the project team and the client. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in project management within a design context.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to implement client projects.
• Develop business for base building and interiors projects across various practice areas.
• Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees.
• Provide leadership to the team and client by communicating project objectives, scope, terms, and schedules.
• Foster a positive team environment and support team members' professional growth.
• Manage project processes, service delivery, documentation, scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project setup.
• Monitor project budgets and profitability targets, including work plans, schedules, fees, billings, and collections.
• Oversee billing and fee management in accordance with Gensler policies.
• Manage accounts receivable, discretionary expenses, expense report approvals, and productivity projections.
• Collaborate with other Design Managers, Finance, Human Resources, and Office Directors.
• Participate in office meetings and contribute to strategy development for best practice integration and client satisfaction.
• Advocate for Gensler's sustainability commitments and integrate sustainability targets into every project.
• Understand client ESG goals and work with project teams to achieve them.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A successful track record in managing all phases of design projects.
• 5-10 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and improve external firm image through active participation in professional organizations.
