Sama Construction & Contracting is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company is involved in large-scale Infrastructure and Mass Earthworks projects, where environmental stewardship and sustainable practices are integral to operations.

The Role of Environmental & Sustainability Engineer

This full-time position involves leading environmental compliance, implementing sustainability practices, and mitigating environmental impacts across the company's projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing environmental management plans, ensuring adherence to local regulations, and integrating sustainable construction methods into heavy civil operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and Sustainability Framework for earthworks and infrastructure activities.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments, site inspections, and audits covering dust control, soil erosion, noise, vibration, and hazardous material management.
• Oversee waste management, recycling initiatives, and resource efficiency strategies on-site.
• Monitor compliance with local environmental protection authorities, national environmental standards, and project-specific sustainability targets such as LEED, Mostadam, or CEEQUAL.
• Prepare environmental reporting, incident reports, and compliance documentation for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or sustainability roles, preferably within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of local environmental laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in waste management protocols, dust and erosion control techniques.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable construction practices.

Work Type and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires active involvement in project operations on-site.
