About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking a Firefighting Supervisor to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading work activities autonomously towards long-term objectives, overseeing operational plan implementation, and enhancing policies, procedures, standards, and reports related to firefighting. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with firefighting service providers, monitor firefighting programs, and execute awareness initiatives, drills, and activities. This ensures readiness, preparedness, and quick intervention during incidents. The supervisor will also drive significant improvements in firefighting policies and systems across all ZATCA facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and benchmark studies to identify best practices and market trends in firefighting, upgrading ZATCA’s standards and systems.
  • Develop general guidelines for fire protection and firefighting based on local and international standards to consolidate practices across all ZATCA facilities.
  • Perform field studies to assess ZATCA’s needs in firefighting countermeasures and protection systems, identifying necessary corrective actions.
  • Plan and implement firefighting awareness sessions and training programs for ZATCA employees to enhance readiness and reduce incidents.
  • Assess internal capabilities and resources to identify needs for outsourced service providers, ensuring comprehensive coverage of firefighting activities.
  • Initiate and schedule firefighting program activities, ensuring involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct fire drills and simulation activities according to schedule to evaluate site evacuation effectiveness and personnel response.
  • Monitor and analyze fire incidents, investigate causes, and implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of firefighting program implementation across all ZATCA facilities.
  • Monitor the performance of outsourced service providers to ensure proper implementation of activities based on required capabilities.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support to junior team members and assist in resolving escalated problems.
  • Escalate complex problems to appropriate personnel for proper resolution.
  • Train junior staff on job activities to facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor the workflow of subordinates.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in firefighting or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead work activities and operate autonomously.
  • Experience in overseeing operational plans and implementing improvements to policies and procedures.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers to maintain high standards of fire safety and preparedness.
