The Role of Fleet Acquisition and Performance Lead

The Fleet Acquisition and Performance Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing Madar's fleet and transport partners to ensure sufficient capacity, cost efficiency, and operational reliability. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Riyadh, involves key functions such as fleet acquisition, onboarding, retention, pricing, capacity planning, supplier coordination, and payment follow-ups. The role requires close collaboration with sourcing and dispatch teams to ensure on-time fulfillment of logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage fleet capacity to meet operational demand and fulfillment requirements.
• Ensure the availability of vehicles and transport partners for daily operations.
• Monitor fleet performance and utilization to prevent capacity shortages or excesses.
• Support supplier tiering and classification based on performance and reliability.
• Acquire and onboard new fleet suppliers and transport partners.
• Manage fleet reactivation for inactive or underutilized suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships to improve retention and long-term engagement with suppliers.
• Coordinate contracting and documentation processes with fleet suppliers.
• Support pricing discussions with fleet suppliers to ensure competitive rates and monitor margins.
• Align pricing strategies with sourcing and operations objectives.
• Coordinate closely with sourcing, dispatching, and fulfillment teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Track fleet execution and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational timelines.
• Follow up on fleet supplier payments and resolve any payment-related issues.
• Ensure timely collection and submission of required documents, coordinating both soft and hard copy submissions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in freight logistics, transportation, fleet management, supply acquisition, or marketplace operations.
• Strong understanding of the Saudi freight market, including truck types, key lanes, market pricing, and capacity dynamics. An established transporter network is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, payment terms, and capacity commitments with transport suppliers.
• Strong operational and commercial mindset with experience in managing fulfillment, supplier performance, and profitability.
• Data-driven approach, comfortable managing performance through dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
