Head of Compliance & AML Opportunity

MENA Careers is seeking a Head of Compliance & AML to lead critical functions within the financial services sector in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, senior leadership position responsible for both the compliance function and the anti-money laundering program.

Role Overview

The Head of Compliance & AML will lead and manage the compliance and anti-money laundering functions across the organization. This director-level position requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on operational management to ensure the business consistently meets its regulatory obligations within the banking and financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and maintaining the compliance framework across the organization.
• Leading the AML program, including policy development, control implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
• Ensuring strict adherence to Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements, including SAMA guidelines.
• Overseeing compliance risk assessments and internal reporting processes.
• Managing relationships with regulatory bodies and responding to regulatory inquiries.
• Building and developing the compliance and AML team.
• Advising senior management and the board on all compliance-related matters.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of significant experience in compliance and AML within the banking or financial services sector.
• Prior experience at a senior or head-of-function level.
• Strong working knowledge of Saudi Arabian financial regulations and SAMA requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory relationships directly.
• Experience in building or restructuring compliance frameworks.
• Relevant professional qualifications in compliance, AML, or financial regulation are expected.

Location and Employment Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Candidates must either be currently based in Riyadh or willing to relocate to the city.
