About the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking an Internal Audit Associate - Manufacturing to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and plays a crucial role in evaluating risks and internal controls across our manufacturing operations. The associate will contribute to ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and accurate reporting, while actively identifying opportunities for improvement within production, inventory, and supply chain processes.

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to support the internal audit function by conducting thorough assessments of manufacturing processes. This involves a focus on identifying key risk areas, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommending strategic enhancements to optimize performance and uphold compliance standards across various operational units.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and assessing key risk areas within manufacturing operations, including production processes, inventory management, procurement, and supply chain activities.
• Support audit planning by evaluating risks in plant operations, warehousing, maintenance, and logistics, and coordinate with relevant plant managers and process owners.
• Document end-to-end manufacturing processes such as production planning, raw material handling, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods management.
• Map and evaluate internal controls over critical areas including inventory accuracy, cost allocation, production efficiency, quality control, and controls within ERP systems and manufacturing applications.
• Participate in internal audit assignments across manufacturing plants, executing audit programs covering production cycles, procurement, maintenance, quality assurance, and distribution processes.
• Support physical verification of inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) and contribute to ad hoc reviews related to operational inefficiencies, wastage, downtime, or control breakdowns.
• Assist in reviewing new manufacturing systems, automation initiatives, and pre-implementation control assessments.
• Analyze production data (*, machine utilization, yield, scrap rates, downtime) and review key performance indicators (KPIs) like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and inventory turnover to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous auditing activities using Business Intelligence (BI) tools and manufacturing dashboards, and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) related to operations and supply chain performance.
• Draft audit findings related to operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and compliance issues, and assist in preparing clear audit reports with practical recommendations tailored to manufacturing operations.
• Ensure audit documentation, including process maps, testing results, and working papers, is complete and well-organized.

• Support business process improvements by coordinating written systems, policies, and procedures, and seeking automation opportunities.
• Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental management procedures within the defined area of work activity.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in internal audit, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
