About the Lifting Engineer Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a qualified Lifting Engineer to oversee and ensure the safe planning, coordination, and execution of all lifting operations on construction sites. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in lifting operations and safety management.

Core Responsibilities

The Lifting Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical safety and operational tasks, including:

• Planning and reviewing all lifting activities, which includes the preparation of detailed lifting plans and method statements.
• Ensuring strict compliance of all lifting operations with HSE regulations, company policies, and relevant international standards.
• Coordinating effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and crane operators to guarantee the safe execution of lifting activities.
• Conducting thorough risk assessments for lifting operations and implementing appropriate control measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Verifying that all lifting equipment, including cranes, slings, and hooks, is properly inspected, certified, and maintained.
• Supervising and monitoring lifting activities on-site to ensure consistent adherence to established safety procedures.
• Investigating any lifting-related incidents, preparing comprehensive reports, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintaining accurate and organized documentation, such as lifting plans, inspection records, and necessary permits.
• Providing guidance and training to site personnel on best practices for safe lifting.
• Supporting Health & Safety administrative functions, including reporting and compliance tracking.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role must meet the following essential qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good understanding of ERP systems concepts with practical experience.
• Strong command of both spoken and written English.

Technical Expertise and Skills

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong aptitude in the following areas:

• Proficiency in Lifting Operations Planning, Risk Assessment, and Safety Compliance, with the ability to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Technical background in AutoCAD, crane load chart analysis, and lifting management software.
• The ability to efficiently apply technical standards within a dynamic work environment.

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh. The role involves direct supervision and coordination on construction sites, requiring a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in all lifting operations.
