The Expo 2030 Riyadh Project

Bechtel Corporation is managing the infrastructure program for Expo 2030 Riyadh, a global platform scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Expo, themed “Foresight for Tomorrow,” promotes sustainable development and innovation, expecting over 40 million visits. Bechtel's scope encompasses early works, utilities, and publicly accessible spaces like streets and parks within the 6 km2 Masterplan, which will transition into a mixed-use legacy development post-event, adhering to international sustainability standards.

Role Overview: Logistics Lead

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Logistics Lead to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role reports to the Construction Logistics Manager and is responsible for leading the planning, governance, integration, and assurance of all construction logistics activities across assigned EXPO delivery areas. The Logistics Lead develops and implements integrated logistics strategies to support engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including Site Logistics Managers, Engineers, Representatives, Traffic Coordinators, and Data Analysts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated Construction Logistics Plans and program-wide logistics strategies.
  • Review, approve, and monitor Contractor Logistics Plans, Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Construction Access Management Plans, and Logistics Execution Plans for compliance.
  • Plan and monitor logistics operations, including the movement of construction materials, equipment, personnel, fuels, waste, and temporary infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the EXPO Client, PMCs, Contractors, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Commercial, and Government Authorities to integrate logistics.
  • Develop logistics execution strategies covering haul roads, access gates, traffic management, workforce movement, laydown areas, logistics hubs, fabrication yards, storage facilities, temporary utilities, parking, and support compounds.
  • Manage the allocation, utilization, and governance of logistics land plots, temporary facilities, and logistics infrastructure.
  • Coordinate logistics interfaces and handovers between Contractors, EXPO, Operations, and Asset Owners to support phased construction completion.
  • Develop logistics scopes of work, budgets, contract packaging, and technical requirements for procurement and service delivery.
  • Identify logistics risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize safety, commercial, schedule, and operational impacts.
  • Monitor contractor logistics performance, conduct compliance reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide logistics reporting, dashboards, KPI monitoring, and executive presentations for program governance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this position will have over 10 years of experience in logistics management, particularly within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. This role requires demonstrated leadership capabilities to manage and develop multidisciplinary teams effectively. Essential skills include expertise in developing and implementing complex logistics strategies, strong risk management abilities, and a proven track record of monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement in logistics operations.

Project Context and Collaboration

Operating in Riyadh, the Logistics Lead acts as the focal point for construction logistics, overseeing contractor logistics performance, traffic and construction access management, logistics infrastructure, land plot allocation, logistics handovers, and temporary facilities. The role demands extensive collaboration across the EXPO Client, PMCs, Contractors, Government Authorities, and other key stakeholders to ensure logistics solutions are fully integrated into program delivery, minimizing risk and supporting successful project execution.
