About the Role

CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on the strategic planning, scheduling, and optimization of maintenance activities for the fleet, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and execute the maintenance program for the fleet. This involves understanding planning requirements, maintaining all key data essential for optimal maintenance, and proactively predicting major maintenance needs. The engineer will be responsible for daily maintenance planning, scheduling major maintenance within permissible tolerances, and meticulously recording all fleet maintenance activities, including wheel maintenance and major inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule daily maintenance tasks for assigned shifts.
• Plan monthly maintenance activities for the fleet.
• Schedule and plan technicians according to forecasted tasks.
• Review and maintain records of completed tasks by team leaders.
• Maintain various records, including inspection checklists and UFWL data.
• Coordinate with corrective teams, warehouse teams, and other departments to ensure optimal fleet maintenance.
• Define and plan the tools and materials required for maintenance operations.
• Provide training and assessment for technicians on different maintenance tasks.

Maintenance Analysis and Optimization

This role requires a strong analytical approach to continuously improve maintenance processes. The engineer will be responsible for the analysis and optimization of maintenance documentation and activities in accordance with company internal procedures. This includes compiling and analyzing log reports from trains to identify potential maintenance schedule optimizations and auditing maintenance activities performed by technicians to establish their competency and the overall quality of maintenance operations. Continuous improvement of maintenance documentation is a core aspect of this role.

Quality and Safety Compliance

The Maintenance Engineer is expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and consistent application of quality, tidiness, and cleanliness regulations and requirements within the organization. Furthermore, strict adherence to occupational risk prevention and environmental regulations currently enforced in the organization is paramount to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant maintenance engineering role, with a strong background in either electrical or mechanical systems, preferably within the railway or a similar heavy equipment industry.
