Microbiologist

About the Role

Cipla is seeking a Microbiologist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting Microbiology operations for the Cipla Saudi Site, ensuring the timely execution of QC Microbiology Laboratory qualifications and validation activities, and managing the procurement of instruments and equipment. The Microbiologist will play a key role in maintaining microbiological compliance and contamination control within the pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare required documents (URS, SIA, PRA & GxP) for the procurement of new instruments and equipment for the Microbiology laboratory.
• Qualify instruments and equipment received in Microbiology according to SOPs and protocols.
• Execute allocated work from the Section Head and prioritize QC activities, including scheduled calibrations and AMCs for all Microbiology Laboratory equipment.
• Prepare protocols, reports, analytical justifications, and laboratory documentation, ensuring right-first-time execution and timely closure of assigned activities.
• Ensure ALCOA++ compliance with raw data, electronic systems, audit trail review, and laboratory records.
• Maintain inspection readiness for SFDA, EU GMP, MHRA, WHO, and PIC/S requirements.
• Support regulatory audits, customer audits, and deficiency responses with sound analytical justification.
• Train analysts and team leaders in various analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, UV, FTIR, dissolution, and advanced analytical evaluation.
• Promote a compliance culture, safety, and scientific decision-making within the section.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Master of Science (**) in Microbiology is preferred.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical Microbiology.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological testing techniques, method validation/verification, method transfer, environmental monitoring, instrument calibrations/validations/qualifications, stability support, and routine analytical procedures.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

This role is critical for ensuring microbiological compliance and contamination control within the pharmaceutical manufacturing site. Responsibilities include environmental monitoring, utility testing, microbiological analysis, and adherence to GMP requirements to ensure product quality, patient safety, and effective regulatory responses. The Microbiologist will also support new product introduction, technology transfer, and inspection readiness for regulated markets, while maintaining cGMP, data integrity, SFDA, and global regulatory compliance.
