POS Design Engineer

About the Role

ALSTOM Transmission & Distribution is seeking a POS Design Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves assisting the Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) in performing engineering activities for traction projects, focusing on high, medium, traction, and low voltage disciplines. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic engineering activities for high voltage, medium voltage, traction, and low voltage systems within projects or programs. This includes providing electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications, interface specifications, and calculation notes.
• Ensure the technical validation of equipment offers from suppliers.
• Execute detailed engineering activities for high voltage, medium voltage, traction, and low voltage systems. This involves following up on and validating technical drawings from equipment suppliers.
• Provide factory test procedures for equipment and participate in factory acceptance tests.
• Assist the POS Design Leader with coordination and interfaces across various teams and stakeholders, including the POS engineering team (automation and installation), other project sub-systems (Systems, civil works, SCADA, catenary, return current, EMC, earthing & bonding), the customer, the project management team, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
• Offer technical support to Field Operations (Installation and Test and Commissioning) teams regarding design-related issues.
• Participate in modifications to As-built documentation drawings, if requested.
• Contribute to the Return of Experience (REX) process for projects or programs.

Experience Required

Candidates for the POS Design Engineer position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering design, particularly within high, medium, traction, and low voltage systems for traction projects.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where the engineer will work collaboratively within a project-focused environment, interacting with various internal teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
