About the Role

Y-axis Global is seeking a Principal Designer, Technical Validation and Configuration to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring the delivery of high-quality visualization and robust technical validation processes within design and engineering workflows.

Role Overview

The Principal Designer will lead projects specifically focused on Visualization, working in close coordination with Design, CAS, CMF, and Engineering teams. A primary objective of this role is to develop, prepare, and organize accurate, detailed, and robust data management and validation practices. These practices are crucial for supporting effective design evaluation and informed decision-making across various project stages.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Organize digital assets, CAD datasets, and variant sets to support efficient validation workflows and reviews.
• Gather required CAS & engineering data and prepare CAD overlays within visualization tools (*, Autodesk VRED) to support technical reviews.
• Facilitate VR reviews and technical validation sessions with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and structured feedback capture.
• Collaboratively configure & run NViz sessions within VRED to facilitate perceived quality reviews.
• Maintain & calibrate fully motorized VR buck and facilitate VR reviews using the equipment.
• Set up and keep VR and visualization hardware calibrated, functional, and ready for stakeholder sessions.
• Help improve visualization pipelines by identifying inefficiencies and supporting automation initiatives (*, scripting, process enhancements).
• Develop and apply best practices for data preparation, visualization, and validation processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, CAS, CMF, Engineering, Manufacturing) to align validation activities with project objectives.
• Apply industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines within all validation and prototype-related activities.
• Keep asset libraries, validation records, and documentation updated and structured for traceability and reuse.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality visualization and technical validation by coordinating between Design, Engineering, and CAS teams.
• Manage CAD datasets and maintain VR hardware to facilitate effective design evaluation and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or an equivalent field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant professional capacity.
