About the Project Director Role

SJ Group is seeking an experienced Project Director – Construction Supervision to lead major infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing large-scale developments from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary teams and serve as the primary interface with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects from inception through completion.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, construction supervision, commercial, and project controls functions.
• Act as the primary client interface, maintaining relationships with clients, government authorities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee contract administration, commercial management, and claims resolution activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and governance requirements.
• Drive project excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.
• Support business development activities, including client engagement, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 20+ years of experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
• Significant experience in construction supervision and project leadership roles.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large, complex infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Strong understanding of project management, construction supervision, contract administration, commercial management, and project controls.
• Extensive experience managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
• Experience working within international consultancy environments is highly desirable.
• GCC and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia project experience is strongly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Chartership, or equivalent are advantageous.
