About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project EHS Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires an ARAMCO-approved EHS Manager with a strong background in the Oil and Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and coordinating an integrated health, safety, and environment management system for construction projects, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all EHS-related documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Lead EHS meetings with clients and project teams, and report EHS issues to the Head Office.
  • Provide EHS induction training to new workers and conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zones.
  • Ensure appropriate safe work permits are obtained by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main Contractors.
  • Conduct site-wide risk assessments, informing Site Engineers and Clients/Main Contractors of high-risk areas.
  • Ensure weekly toolbox talks are delivered by Engineers to promote EHS awareness among workers.
  • Verify that all personnel wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, EHS shoes, and coveralls.
  • Ensure equipment such as ladders and scaffolding are in good working condition before use.
  • Maintain satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including access to water, rest areas, adequate lighting, and ventilation.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping on project sites to prevent incidents and accidents.
  • Conduct Job EHS Analysis for high-risk activities to minimize hazardous conditions.
  • Encourage workers and engineers to implement EHS best practices.
  • Investigate minor or major incidents/accidents with engineers and communicate findings for future precautions.
  • Administer first-aid or seek medical assistance in case of worker injury.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all EHS activities.
  • Establish, monitor, appraise, and coordinate an integrated health, safety, and environment management system compliant with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards, including improvising procedure manuals and internal audits.
  • Conduct EHS training programs for engineers and workers on-site and participate in HR-organized EHS training.
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities, ensuring findings are incorporated into method statements.
  • Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party equipment inspections.
  • Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and conduct emergency drills.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Work Permit System.
  • Coordinate occupational health and welfare measures.
  • Prepare EHS conditions of contract for sub-contractors.
  • Stop work immediately if unsafe practices are observed, promoting a proactive commitment to action.
  • Conduct monthly project risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
  • Provide EHS reports to the project head and IC Head on EHS performance status.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ARAMCO-approved EHS Manager certification is mandatory.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an EHS role, with a significant background in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing EHS systems compliant with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proficiency in preparing EHS documentation, conducting risk assessments, and leading EHS training.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic project environment. The role involves working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
