The Role of Robotics Engineer

QSS AI & Robotics is seeking a Robotics Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves developing, integrating, and deploying advanced robotic systems, contributing to projects that optimize technology investments and deliver high-value services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robotics applications utilizing Python, C++, and ROS 2.
• Integrate various components including sensors, motors, controllers, cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and embedded systems.
• Develop capabilities for autonomous navigation, localization, mapping, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
• Program and integrate collaborative robotic arms for tasks such as pick-and-place, palletizing, inspection, and general automation.
• Work with robotics frameworks and tools including MoveIt 2, Nav2, TF2, URDF, RViz, and Gazebo.
• Interface with microcontrollers, NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, motor drivers, and industrial computers.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, communication, and integration issues within robotic systems.
• Test, deploy, and document robotic systems thoroughly.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in robotics.
• Strong experience with Python and ROS 2.
• Working knowledge of C++ and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with autonomous mobile robots or autonomous vehicles.
• Experience with collaborative robotic arms and end-effectors.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
• Understanding of SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), navigation, robot control, kinematics, and sensor integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with specific robotic platforms such as Universal Robots, ABB, FANUC, KUKA, or Doosan.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Isaac ROS, Docker, computer vision, or industrial automation.
• Prior experience deploying robotic systems at customer sites.
