About the Role

Egis is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts/Commercial Manager to join their construction organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves overseeing all aspects of contract management and commercial operations for construction projects. The role requires protecting the organization's interests while maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make decisive judgments in complex commercial scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including terms, conditions, and commercial provisions.
  • Analyze contract documents and their commercial implications to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the complete contract lifecycle from tender stage through project completion and final closure.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with Saudi Arabian regulations, local laws, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and project management teams to align commercial objectives with project goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive commercial reports, analyses, and performance metrics for senior management.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to optimize project profitability and minimize exposure.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout project execution.
  • Monitor contract performance against agreed KPIs and commercial benchmarks.
  • Handle contract disputes, claims, and variations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain organized contract documentation and a centralized contract management system.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial stakeholders and partners.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 20+ years of professional experience in contracts and commercial management within the construction industry.
  • Proven expertise in contract management and commercial operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction contract types and standards (*, FIDIC, AIA, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal compliance, and risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex commercial terms and negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • An analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working in international or multicultural project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements and local business practices.
  • Experience with claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Professional certification in contracts management or commercial law.
