About the Role

Dar Al Riyadh Consultants is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead the contract management process from initial negotiations through to final closeout. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and involves ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and legal requirements for construction supervision projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and amendments for construction supervision projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and legal requirements, identifying and mitigating contractual risks.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to resolve disputes and ensure project continuity.
  • Monitor project budgets and costs in relation to contracts, ensuring financial targets and timelines are met.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact for contractual matters.
  • Lead negotiations with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, developing procurement strategies and evaluating bids.
  • Ensure proper documentation of contracts, change orders, variations, and extensions, maintaining accurate records.
  • Supervise and mentor junior contract administrators, providing training on contract management processes.
  • Oversee the change management process, including reviewing and approving change orders and claims, and analyzing their impact.
  • Negotiate and settle claims arising from contractual disputes or scope changes.
  • Continuously monitor contractor performance against contract terms and project milestones.
  • Prepare and respond to contractual letters, notices, and correspondence, drafting claims, EOTs, and delay notifications.
  • Work closely with legal teams to interpret contract terms and provide support in legal proceedings.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of contracts to ensure compliance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment of contract terms with project execution.
  • Identify areas for improvement in contract management processes and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations as stipulated in contracts.
  • Manage all payments, including progress payments and final settlements, in accordance with contract terms.
  • Manage dispute resolution processes, assessing claims and resolving disputes efficiently.
  • Ensure a smooth project closeout, including final inspections and handover of documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in contract management, with significant experience in construction supervision projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, construction regulations, and project management principles.
  • Proven track record of managing contracts for large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools (*, MS Project, Primavera).
  • Professional certification (*, Certified Construction Contract Administrator - CCCM) is an advantage.
