The Role: Senior Structural Engineer

KEO International Consultants is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Project Management and Construction Supervision team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and focuses on a prestigious villa development project. The role involves ensuring structural works are executed to high standards of safety, quality, and engineering excellence throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all structural construction activities on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and local authority regulations.
• Review contractor shop drawings, structural calculations, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
• Monitor structural works including foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete structures, post-tensioned slabs (where applicable), steel structures, masonry, and finishing structural elements.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved structural designs and international engineering standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, landscape, and infrastructure teams to resolve interface issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify workmanship and compliance.
• Witness testing and inspections including concrete pours, reinforcement inspections, material testing, load testing, and structural integrity inspections.
• Review Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and engineering change proposals.
• Identify construction risks and provide practical engineering solutions to maintain programme objectives.
• Assist in evaluating contractor progress and monitoring compliance with project schedules.
• Support the Resident Engineer with technical reporting, progress meetings, and client presentations.
• Review non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and close-out documentation.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained throughout all structural activities.
• Participate in project coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and inspectors while promoting engineering best practice across the project.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 15 years of work experience, with at least 7 years specifically focused on an engineering consultancy or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.
• A strong understanding of reinforced concrete and structural engineering principles.
• Extensive consultancy experience overseeing structural works on luxury residential, villa, mixed-use, or high-end building developments.

Collaboration and Project Focus

The Senior Structural Engineer will work closely with the Resident Engineer, contractors, design consultants, and client representatives. The role requires coordination with various internal and external teams to ensure successful delivery of all structural elements for the villa development project.
