About the Opportunity

Our client is leading the development of a generational airport project in Saudi Arabia, centered around King Salman International Airport as a Vision 2030 flagship initiative. This full-time role, based residentially in Riyadh, seeks a Senior Lead Solution Architect Airport Transformation with 5-10 years of relevant experience to drive the technology, operational, and business transformation required for this megaproject.

Role Mandate and Scope

Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the Senior Lead Solution Architect will hold responsibility for the end-to-end technical solution across the entire airport technology landscape. This critical position is instrumental in transforming the ambitious build into a fully operational airport.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design of integrated airport technology solutions, encompassing passenger processing (check-in, self-service kiosks, bag drop, boarding), baggage handling and reconciliation, common-use systems (CUPPS, CUSS, CUTE), and airport operational systems (AODB, RMS, FIDS, BHS interfaces).
• Defining target architectures and roadmaps that span applications, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, networks, and security.
• Designing integration architectures to connect airline, airport, ground-handler, government, and retail systems.
• Embedding cyber security, data protection, and regulatory compliance into the design process from inception.
• Chairing design authority and architecture review boards, and managing technical risk identification and mitigation.
• Leading and mentoring a team of solution and domain architects, and establishing design standards.

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience as a solution or enterprise architect on large, complex programmes, with demonstrable delivery in the aviation, airport, or wider transport/critical-infrastructure sector.
• Strong command of airport operational systems and the IT/OT landscape, including AODB, RMS, FIDS, BHS, CUPPS/CUSS/CUTE, BRS, A-CDM, passenger flow, and biometric processing.
• Proven architecture breadth across applications, integration, data, cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), infrastructure, networks, and cyber security.
• A track record of designing for high availability, resilience, and security in mission-critical, 24/7 operational environments.
• Deep familiarity with IATA messaging and relevant ACI/IATA guidance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with comfort engaging at C-level.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification is desirable.

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residential presence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
