The Role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

C-Quest is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for providing key technical expertise and input at various stages of multiple projects, ensuring the highest technical quality of delivery within the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Firm in dealings with relevant parties, managing pre-contract, measurement, and cost planning.
  • Communicate with the Manager CQS and project senior cost controllers regarding project status and progress, managing projects in accordance with KEO Project Management Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Review and approve interim payments, project variations, and other financial matters.
  • Maintain communication with project managers, directors, contractors, and client’s site representatives on all project-related issues.
  • Oversee the financial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring contract terms are followed and managing supplemental agreements.
  • Provide support to senior management on all financial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Convene and chair commercial meetings, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Ensure all cost and quantity records are streamlined and maintained by the Quantity Surveyors.
  • Assess, measure, advise, and recommend on the cost impact of design changes.
  • Prepare Change/Variation Orders and reports on their cost impacts on the construction budget.
  • Prepare draft contractual correspondence and certificates for issue to the client and contractor.
  • Prepare project cost and cash flow reports.
  • Participate in cost and contractual review meetings.
  • Provide general commercial/contractual support to project teams.
  • Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of career experience working in a consultancy environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying from a globally recognized university.
  • Chartered status, MRICS or equivalent.

Required Skills

  • Excellent and effective presentation skills at all levels.
  • Ability to implement commercial/contractual matters within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to analyze project variations and changes, prepare project reports, and analyze information for budget adjustments to assure successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency in delivering budgets and pre-contract tender documents.
  • Ability to understand, identify, and assess project risks.
  • Knowledge of Standard Method of Measurement of construction works.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and Revit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
