The Role of Senior Structural Engineer (Design Review)

KEO International Consultants is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Design Review) to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves applying extensive experience in design review methodologies to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. The role focuses on critical analysis and optimization of structural designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Design Review Methodology, including review schedules, workflows, and design assurance processes.
• Conduct Design Compliance Reviews against project specifications, applicable codes, standards, regulations, and employer requirements.
• Perform Value Engineering (VE) and Constructability Reviews to identify opportunities for cost, quality, operational, and construction optimization.
• Manage and develop Comment Resolution Registers.
• Provide recommendations for design stage approvals and Issued for Construction (IFC) submissions.
• Identify, assess, and track design-related risks through Risk Registers and propose mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, BIM teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders throughout the design review process.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in Design Review Methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Design Compliance Reviews.
• Strong knowledge of Value Engineering (VE) and Constructability Reviews.
• Experience in developing and managing Comment Resolution Registers.
• Ability to provide recommendations for design stage approvals and IFC submissions.
• Experience in identifying, assessing, and tracking design-related risks.
• Strong coordination skills with various project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of BIM Coordination, Clash Detection, and review of BIM Coordination Reports (preferred).
