About the Role

Salt is seeking a System Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position requiring 2-5 years of experience. The role involves providing technical support within an infrastructure environment that supports critical server, GPU, storage, networking, and liquid-cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support for server, storage, and network environments.
• Manage technical incidents from initial diagnosis to resolution, including classification, investigation, and analysis.
• Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting in accordance with agreed SLAs.
• Produce detailed technical analysis and incident reports.
• Identify potential escalations proactively to prevent further impact.
• Conduct hardware replacements, physical fault isolation, and root cause analysis on hardware failures.
• Carry out system health checks, operational readiness testing, and preventive maintenance.
• Perform firmware and BIOS updates and support annual liquid-cooling maintenance activities.
• Manage and track Return Material Authorization (RMA) cases with hardware manufacturers.
• Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting and maintenance activities within the ticketing system.
• Prepare technical and service-related documentation.
• Prepare, refurbish, and test spare parts for deployment readiness.
• Participate in technical on-call rotations and provide permanent onsite technical support when required.
• Communicate professionally with customer technical contacts, providing clear updates and building strong working relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent qualification in IT Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, IT Infrastructure, or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining enterprise hardware.
• Ability to work effectively using technical manuals, service documentation, and manufacturer specifications.

Work Environment

This role operates within a technical infrastructure environment, providing support for critical systems. It involves both remote and onsite work, including participation in on-call rotations and providing permanent onsite support as needed.
