About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Typhoon Simulator Instructor Pilot to join their team in Taif. This full-time position offers the opportunity to utilize your aviation instruction expertise within a key support role for the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Role Context

BAE Systems operates as the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor, providing essential equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to the maintenance of RSAF aircraft and the safe training of RSAF personnel in the operation of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons systems through simulator and ground school instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting transition and recurrent training, including ground school lectures, briefings, and de-briefings aligned with aircrew operational requirements.
• Delivering flight simulator training sessions.
• Completing accurate and detailed reports or assessments for pilots under instruction.
• Recommending additional or remedial training for pilots not meeting progression standards.
• Developing course content for specialist subjects in accordance with RSAF requirements.
• Managing all activities associated with synthetic and ground school training.
• Overseeing the day-to-day management of synthetic devices, including conducting simulator checks, validations, qualifications, and instructor/examiner training.
• Performing office duties, contributing to projects, and undertaking other related tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of previous instructional experience as a Flight Crew Training Instructor (FCTI) or Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI).
• Prior experience conducting flight crew training in a simulator environment.
• Completion of the simulator content of an applicable type rating course at a flight training organization.
• Typhoon experience is highly desirable but not essential. Strong candidates with significant fast-jet experience and an instructor pilot qualification may be provided with Typhoon ground school and simulator training.
