About BAE Systems and the Role

BAE Systems, with a 50-year commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, provides platforms and services supporting the Saudi armed forces. The company has invested in developing Saudi people, technology, infrastructure, and local companies within the defence supply chain. This full-time role for a Pneudraulics Systems Technician is based in Dhahran and requires 5-10 years of experience.

Role Overview

The Pneudraulics Systems Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and testing of hydraulic and pneumatic system components. This includes ensuring compliance with technical orders, managing spare parts, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Pneudraulics Bay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform component maintenance, including stripping, surveying, inspections, repairs, overhauls, and modifications of assets.
  • Conduct Standard Serviceability Tests on both hydraulic and pneumatic system components.
  • Maintain engineering practices in compliance with RSAF Technical Orders.
  • Ensure strict tool control procedures are followed.
  • Adequately maintain and utilise all industrial equipment (test rigs) within the Pneudraulics Bay.
  • Manage and report spare part requirements using the GoldESP system or similar platforms, highlighting "Nil-Stock" or "low balance" items.
  • Execute TCTOs and Special Inspections as directed.
  • Collaborate with BAESAI to complete directed tasks, ensuring immediate asset availability.
  • Report and encourage expedient Error Management Reporting, addressing safety concerns immediately.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve TSS service delivery and foster a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Manage personal time and attendance, mandatory training, competencies, authorisations, Saudi Council of Engineering membership, and leave usage.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA; OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed) or equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
    • Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.
    • Saudi Council of Engineering (SCE) Registration.
    • At least 5 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace training, OR 3 years on the same aircraft type, OR successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
    • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis relevant to the role.
  • Desirable:
    • Broad Aerospace and Defence company/industry knowledge.
    • Ability to understand and use the Maintenance GoldESP system or a similar platform.
    • Full conversancy with the interpretation of technical diagrams and documentation.
