Supervisor Type II (Metrology/Calibration)

About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Supervisor Type II specializing in Metrology/Calibration to join their team in Dhahran. This full-time role involves managing calibration production control within the Secondary Calibration Squadron and serving as a key point of contact for operational performance. The Supervisor will provide Metrology advice and technical solutions to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Role Context

For over 30 years, the Metrology and Calibration Wing (MetCal Wing) has supported the RSAF in maintaining the safe and effective operation of its aircraft and weapon systems. This is achieved by ensuring that all associated Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) meets performance specifications through regular, quality-controlled calibrations traceable to the International System of Units. This position offers an opportunity to work within an evolving calibration organization alongside a multinational team of metrology professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide Metrology measurement, technical, logistical, and strategic support to the Calibration Squadron Commander in managing the Calibration Laboratory.
• Ensure operations are performed in accordance with RSAF QM 4-7702 and other relevant RSAF directives.
• Perform laboratory and department administration, including managing resources and staff, to ensure timely and efficient task accomplishment.
• Review resources, procedures, and processes to develop capability, maximize performance, and ensure timely customer support.
• Utilize statistics to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for production output and turnaround time of calibration/production processes.
• Actively recommend Metrology improvements to the Calibration Squadron Commander.
• Liaise and communicate with RSAF Officers and Contractor personnel regarding calibration and lateral support requirements.
• Collaborate with MetCal Engineering and the Primary Calibration Squadron to determine capability requirements for the Secondary Calibration Squadron, KKAB.
• Motivate and encourage staff to achieve high levels of performance and quality, and to develop personal skills and job knowledge.
• Attend and actively participate in meetings or other activities as deemed necessary by the Calibration Squadron Commander to promote understanding of Metrology within the RSAF.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in metrology and calibration.
