Engineering Technician EOD

About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Technician EOD to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah. This full-time position involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the operational efficiency of hotel equipment and facilities. The role requires 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and address guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for proper function.
• Carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and ensure cleanup of repair areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, including plumbing (*, plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components (lamps, outlets, switches), cosmetic items, and internet devices.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before commencing maintenance work.
• Execute repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including external landscaping sprinklers.
• Follow all company safety and security policies, report maintenance problems or hazards, complete safety training, and properly store flammable materials.
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests.
• Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
• Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and communicate professionally with colleagues.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier items with assistance.
• Navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders; reach overhead and below the knees.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems and controls.
• Familiarity with carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation.
• General building maintenance knowledge.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in an engineering or maintenance technician role.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as required by the role, including lifting, bending, and climbing.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Al Madinah, within the hospitality sector. The role involves working across various areas of the hotel property, interacting with guests and team members.
