About Acwa Operations and the Bisha Solar PV Project

Acwa Operations, formerly NOMAC, is the operations and maintenance arm of Acwa, dedicated to ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective functioning of power generation and water desalination assets. The company supports critical infrastructure across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. This role is for the Bisha Solar PV Project in Bishah, Asir, Saudi Arabia. This project involves the development of a 3,000 MW solar PV plant under an IPP model with a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with SPPC. Financial close was achieved in October 2025, with completion scheduled for December 2027.

Role Summary: Plant General Manager

The Plant General Manager will provide overall direction to the plant teams, leading all activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This full-time position focuses on optimizing resource utilization and delivering uninterrupted power supply in accordance with defined standards and contractual obligations to maximize revenue. The role reports to the VP Cluster Head of Assets - South Region / Country Manager and requires over 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the plant strategy in alignment with Acwa Operations' O&M strategy.
• Manage and monitor the performance of direct and indirect reports, including workforce planning and recruitment.
• Develop and manage the plant's operating budget, monitoring financial performance against targets.
• Lead and ensure the effective cascading of operational strategy into production plans, monitoring performance for resource optimization and plant efficiency.
• Provide overall direction to plant operations and maintenance teams, offering technical guidance and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Direct teams on O&M strategies, oversee root cause analysis, and provide guidance on potential risk areas.
• Oversee and manage the identification of required inventory, approving purchase requisitions for materials, services, and equipment.
• Ensure effective implementation of SAP processes and adherence to IMS objectives, targets, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental management policies.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external entities.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all plant reports for the Project Company and senior management.
• Develop and ensure the implementation of Operation's department work instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee the implementation of effective methods and techniques for continuous improvement and technological advancements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage plant operations, maintenance, and financial performance.
• Strong understanding of contractual obligations and project financial metrics.
• Experience with SAP implementation and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
• Proficiency in developing and implementing operational strategies and plans.

Internal and External Relationships

The Plant General Manager will collaborate closely with Senior Management, Maintenance, Procurement, HSSE, P&C, Finance teams, and Storekeepers internally. Externally, the role requires building rapport with contractors, vendors, the Project Company, local authorities, external auditors, and shareholders.
