About the Aircrew Instructor Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an Aircrew Instructor to join the KFAB O&AT Flying Operations delivery team in Tabuk. This full-time position is integral to the delivery of the O&AT Hawk T-165 Service Delivery, focusing on training for the KFAB Hawk T-165. The role is designed to manage ground-based tasks traditionally handled by Instructor Pilots, allowing them to concentrate on instructional events and optimize staff utilization and cost-efficiency while maintaining high service quality.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Aircrew Instructor (AI) is responsible for delivering and managing a broad range of tasks efficiently, requiring a strong competency in teaching complex aircraft systems and mission operations. Key challenges include workload management and task prioritization. The AI will support the O&AT Service Delivery, contributing to the effective training of aircrew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Hawk T-165 Technical Ground School Training.
  • Operate Aircrew Training Devices (ATD) consoles as required.
  • Provide Human Factors and Flight Safety Training support.
  • Manage the Aircrew Publications library, including amendments.
  • Coordinate and conduct Ground School events according to RSAF and BAESSA policies.
  • Maintain Ground School instructional standards to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Support Flying Operations management and staff to ensure best practices in flying training.
  • Coordinate currency, competency training, evaluation, and administrative tasks as directed by the Aircrew Instructor Supervisor (AIS).
  • Deliver scheduled training on the Hawk T-165, Integrated Procedures Training (IPT), Egress Training Device (ETD), Ejection Seat Training Device (ESTD), and Multi-media Computer Based Training (MCBT) classroom.
  • Utilize the Flying Operations Training Management Information System (TMIS) and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Update courseware using the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) in accordance with DSAT processes.
  • Administer and grade Trainee ground-based examinations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
    • Ex-Military Instructional Aircrew with experience in a crewed environment.
    • One of the following qualifications: Qualified Weapons Instructor (QWI), Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI), Qualified Navigation Instructor (QNI), Instructor Weapons System Operator (IWSO), or an Aircrew Ground Instructor qualification.
    • Ability to deliver clear and concise ground school lectures, briefs, presentations, and reports.
    • IT literate with current Microsoft Office programs.
    • High standard of spoken and written English (IELTS or equivalent).
  • Desirable:
    • Previous instructional experience with RSAF or GCC personnel.
    • Qualified Human Factors Facilitator or Instructor.
    • Qualified Performance Coach.
    • Experience with Training Management Information System (TMIS) or Flight Pro.
    • Familiarity with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), including Training Situational/Needs Analysis and syllabus development.
    • Familiarity with RSAF Manual (RSAFM) 1500 series, RSAFM Flying Order Book (FOB), Aircraft Flying Manuals, Normal and Emergency checklists, Weapon Checklists, and performance data manuals.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
