The Role: Category Management Associate

Panda Retail Company is seeking a Category Management Associate for the Home Care - Paper & Disposables category. This full-time position, based in Jeddah, involves supporting the Category and Assistant Category Managers in various commercial and operational aspects to ensure category performance and vendor relations. The role is integral to optimizing product availability, managing commercial margins, and implementing category plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Category/Assistant Category Manager in negotiating annual supply agreements with vendors, adhering to company guidelines.
• Support the Category Manager in recommending product categories and implementing category plans aligned with sales budgets and forecasts.
• Aid in negotiating and administering cost and retail price settings to optimize product margins.
• Contribute to managing the total commercial margin by negotiating and following up on vendor deals and ensuring their proper implementation.
• Analyze and follow up with vendors on the product sourcing process, ensuring all necessary formalities are completed.
• Support vendor relationship management by providing periodic performance feedback.
• Assist the Category Manager in the promo optimization process, including supplier brief communication, item selection, internal promo communication, forecasting, signoff, and post-promo review and action.
• Improve category availability through the setting of Minimum Forecast Quantity (MFQ) and Minimum Display Quantity (MDQ).
• Enhance category footfall through effective planogram implementation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering is required.

Internal and External Relationships

This role involves significant collaboration with various internal departments, including the Category Management Team, Supplier Management Team, Marketing Team, Operations, Supply Chain, Private Label, and the Finance Department. Externally, the associate will regularly interact with suppliers and vendors to manage agreements and ensure smooth operations.
