Inspector Mechanical (Saudi National)

About the Role

WSP is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join the Construction Supervision team. This full-time role is based in Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), supporting a major infrastructure development project. The position focuses on overseeing the inspection of mechanical infrastructure installations for roads, utilities, and industrial infrastructure works.

Role Purpose and Context

The Mechanical Inspector will ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. Working closely with the Resident Engineer and project team, this role is critical for monitoring and inspecting construction activities related to water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage, and stormwater infrastructure, ensuring delivery to high standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor mechanical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Supervise installation activities for potable water networks, firefighting systems, irrigation systems, sewerage networks, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Review and verify materials delivered to site, ensuring they meet project specifications and approvals.
• Witness testing, flushing, pressure testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Identify non-conforming works and assist in tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve site-related technical issues.
• Verify compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship standards.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions related to mechanical works.
• Support the Resident Engineer in achieving project objectives and delivery milestones.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Saudi National.
• 7 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably within infrastructure development projects.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical infrastructure installations, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Work Environment

This role is part of the Construction Supervision team for a major infrastructure development project. The work involves site-based inspections and coordination in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and Jeddah.
