About the Lifeguard Role

The Jeddah EDITION, part of Marriott International, is seeking a full-time Lifeguard to join its team in Jeddah. This entry-level position, requiring 0-1 year of experience, is crucial for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests within the hotel's recreation facilities. EDITION Hotels are recognized for combining visionary design with world-class luxury service, aiming to provide a distinctive hospitality experience. Key Responsibilities

• Observe the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and struggling swimmers.
• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques when observing swimmers in need of assistance.
• Provide immediate assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Promote and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreation facility.
• Identify possible situations where guests may not be able to safely participate in an activity and inform the supervisor or manager.
• Contribute to a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, mop, and clean the pool deck to maintain hygiene standards.

Professional Conduct and Operational Compliance

• Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager promptly.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by management.

Physical Demands

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running, walking, or jogging.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• Experience: No related work experience is required for this entry-level position.
• Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Current First Aid Certification.
  • Certification in Fitness Equipment.
  • Any additional certifications or training required by local and state agencies.

This full-time Lifeguard position is based at The Jeddah EDITION, a Marriott International property in Jeddah. The role operates within a luxury hotel environment, where maintaining high standards of service and ensuring guest safety are paramount.
