The Role of Logistics Specialist

Unilever Arabia is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join its team in Jeddah, Mecca Region. This full-time role is crucial for managing import operations, customs clearance activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance within Saudi Arabia's strategic logistics ecosystem. The position requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on maintaining an agile and efficient logistics model to support a diverse product portfolio and customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor import shipment activities, including tracking, cost monitoring, payments, and system registrations.
• Liaise with government authorities and customs brokers to obtain necessary approvals and resolve clearance issues.
• Prepare and review customs clearance documentation to ensure compliance and smooth shipment processing.
• Coordinate triangulation invoice requirements and ensure adherence to customs regulations.
• Support customs exemption applications and maintain related documentation and records.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure readiness and timely receipt of imported goods.
• Monitor logistics service providers' performance and escalate operational issues as required.
• Track clearance lead times and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Follow up on empty container returns to avoid detention charges and unnecessary costs.
• Ensure compliance with SFDA, SASO, ZATCA Customs, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipment, clearance, and compliance records in company systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure seamless end-to-end import operations.
• Support reporting activities by providing logistics performance data and KPI analysis.
• Assist in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing logistics and import operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in logistics, import operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and monitor import shipment activities.
• Experience ensuring documentation, registrations, permits, and pre-approvals are completed.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance activities, including SFDA registrations, SASO certifications, and customs exemptions.
