R&D Specialist

About the Role

Gulfmaid is seeking an R&D Specialist to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah. This full-time role involves leading new product development, optimizing formulations, and driving continuous improvement within manufacturing processes. The specialist will contribute to material science advancements and impact product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end development of new and existing products from conception to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market needs and company goals.
• Develop and optimize formulations, specifically for PVC, CPVC, and PP compounds, to meet performance and cost targets.
• Select and evaluate raw materials and additives such as stabilizers, fillers, impact modifiers, and lubricants. Assess alternative suppliers in coordination with the procurement team.
• Conduct product testing, material evaluation, and production trials, ensuring full compliance with international standards including ASTM, ISO, SASO, NSF, and UL.
• Investigate material-related issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), analyze scrap and defects, and recommend cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain precise material specifications, datasheets, and validation reports. Provide support to production teams on the shop floor.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant R&D role.
• Demonstrated experience in product development and formulation optimization.
• Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, ISO, SASO, NSF, UL) for material testing and validation.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah. The role requires hands-on involvement within a dynamic team environment, focusing on research and development within the manufacturing sector.
