About the Role

HASCO Group is seeking a Safety Engineer to support operations in the Makkah region, including cities such as Yanbu, Jeddah, and Makkah. This full-time role requires a candidate with strong experience in the construction sector, capable of managing and implementing safety functions effectively.

Role Purpose

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures across construction sites. This involves conducting regular inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations to promote a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments.
• Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities, including work at height, lifting, excavation, scaffolding, hot work, electrical work, and confined spaces.
• Conduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training.
• Monitor Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and housekeeping.
• Monitor HSE compliance of contractors and subcontractors.
• Maintain HSE records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi regulations, project requirements, and relevant NFPA standards.
• Report major HSE risks and violations to the HSE Manager and recommend corrective measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the construction site.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a safety engineering role.
• Demonstrated strong experience within the construction sector.
• Ability to efficiently manage and implement safety functions.

Work Type and Location

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, with potential work across cities including Yanbu, Jeddah, and Makkah. The salary for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
