About the Role

Sunbulah Group is seeking a Specialist EHS to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing and monitoring fire safety measures, conducting audits, and providing expert advice on fire prevention and emergency response across the Sunbulah business. The Specialist EHS will ensure the highest standards of fire safety are maintained, focusing on the readiness of firefighting systems and personnel to prevent incidents and protect employees.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor fire inspection patrols, ensuring the effective use of fire inspection checklists.
• Conduct periodic audits of the site to uphold the highest international standards of fire safety.
• Advise line management on legal and company standards pertaining to fire safety.
• Liaise with Civil Defense representatives during fire inspections and regarding fire prevention measures.
• Identify potential hazards leading to accidents or fire loss, compile necessary reports, and recommend preventative measures to line management.
• Assess possible causes of injury and other circumstances resulting from accidents, compile necessary reports, and inform line management of future prevention strategies.
• Report on all safety inspections, recommending corrective actions for non-conformance.

Fire Systems and Chemical Safety Management

• Advise on required fire warning and firefighting equipment for all areas of the Sunbulah business.
• Ensure fire detection, alarm, suppression, water & hydrant systems, and firefighting equipment are maintained and in a state of readiness through a robust fire inspection system.
• Maintain firefighting appliances to ensure their suitability for use.
• Develop and implement hazardous chemical storage and handling procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Deal with fire and chemical issues promptly and effectively.

Training and Emergency Preparedness

• Ensure that fire inspectors conduct regular training programs and fire drills as detailed by the fire safety officer to maintain readiness for fire situations.
• Lead a dedicated firefighting team composed of employees trained as auxiliary firemen.
• Participate in regular safety and fire drill training programs to maintain personal readiness.
• Undertake the training of managers in delivering basic fire prevention programs to staff as needed.
• Raise awareness and promote good fire and chemical safety practices across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Fire Protection Association Diploma or another recognized qualification in a related field.
• Requires 0-1 years of relevant experience in EHS or fire safety roles.

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, within the Sunbulah Group operations, contributing to a safe and secure working environment.
