Quality Manager (BESS Project)

About the Role

Acwa is seeking a Quality Manager for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This full-time position is based in Hail, Ha'il, Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading the QA/QC team and ensuring quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle, representing both the Project Company and the Owner’s Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the QA/QC team, representing the Project Company and Owner’s Engineer throughout the BESS project lifecycle.
• Review, approve, and monitor the EPC Contractor’s Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and quality documentation.
• Ensure quality compliance across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Oversee quality inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for battery systems, BMS, PCS, EMS, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.
• Monitor site inspections, installation quality, Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and integrated BESS performance testing.
• Develop and implement quality audit schedules, surveillance plans, supplier inspections, and third-party audits.
• Manage non-conformances, defects, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Monitor quality KPIs and prepare periodic quality performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards, BESS standards, Saudi regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
• Promote quality awareness, continuous improvement, and lessons learned across all project stakeholders.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in quality management, particularly within large-scale energy or infrastructure projects, with a focus on BESS projects being highly advantageous.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Hail, Ha'il, Saudi Arabia. The role requires active participation in project activities on-site and collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain high quality standards.
