About the Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking a dedicated Commi to join our culinary team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to a professional kitchen environment, focusing on food preparation and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables as required for various dishes.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to established recipes.
• Cook and prepare food in adherence to specified recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items as part of the menu offerings.
• Operate various kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine sufficient cooking and readiness for service.
• Monitor food quality consistently throughout the preparation process.
• Set up and efficiently break down the assigned work station.
• Serve food in proper portions onto designated receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment to maintain strict hygiene standards.
• Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.

General Professional Duties

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; uphold the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and supervisors.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.
• Perform additional reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 year of experience in a culinary or kitchen environment is required.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Capacity to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
