Fabrications Supervisor

About the Role

Alsalam Aerospace Industries is seeking a Fabrications Supervisor to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Taif and Makkah. This full-time role involves overseeing fabrication and component repair activities within an operational aviation environment, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all fabrication and component repair activities according to approved maintenance plans and schedules.
• Lead, supervise, and provide technical guidance to maintenance and engineering personnel.
• Ensure activities are completed within agreed timelines while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) requirements.
• Ensure adherence to approved maintenance procedures, technical data, quality standards, and applicable aviation regulations.
• Monitor personnel performance, identifying training, development, and competency requirements.
• Support the training and development of technical personnel and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Ensure the availability and readiness of workshop facilities, equipment, tooling, and required materials.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure operational readiness.
• Ensure correct use of approved technical data, repair instructions, and engineering drawings during maintenance.
• Accurately record and document all maintenance activities in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Conduct regular workshop inspections to maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and operational discipline.
• Monitor and control Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risks within the workshop environment.
• Identify and escalate deficiencies in equipment, infrastructure, materials, PPE, and resources.
• Support operational planning and monitor workshop requirements for timely maintenance delivery.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support the achievement of operational readiness, performance targets, and customer requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Recognized technical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, ONC, OND, BTEC, technical apprenticeship, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification practical aircraft maintenance experience within an operational aviation environment, or a minimum of 3 years' experience on the same aircraft type.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience within a technical or engineering environment.
• Experience working with metallic and/or composite materials.
• Ability to read and understand engineering, design, and repair drawings.
• Relevant technical and equipment-specific training.
• Previous experience in military aviation or operational aircraft maintenance.
• Strong experience in aircraft component maintenance and workshop environments.
• Must be eligible for the appropriate level of Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership and maintain membership throughout employment.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within a military aviation environment, preferably with an ex-military aviation background and a minimum of 7 years' experience in an operational flying environment.
• Experience working in a Gulf-region aviation environment.
• Experience delivering workplace training and developing technical personnel.
• Knowledge of electronic maintenance reporting systems.
• Good understanding of aviation maintenance processes, procedures, and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong practical knowledge of aircraft component maintenance in both flight-line and workshop environments. They will have proven experience supervising technical teams and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance, demonstrating a proactive and conscientious approach to work.
