Launch manufacturing engineering Specialist EV

About the Role

Allegis Group, a global engineering and project delivery consultancy, is seeking an experienced Launch Manufacturing Engineering Specialist - EV. This contract role is critical for the launch of a new electric powertrain manufacturing facility in the Middle East. The specialist will support a major automotive client in scaling up production of electric drive systems, including e-motors, inverters, and integrated e-drive assemblies.

Role Context and Focus

This position focuses on the complete lifecycle of a new production line, from initial setup through to full-scale manufacturing. It is distinct from maintenance or business-as-usual manufacturing operations, concentrating specifically on the launch and ramp-up phases of new production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing equipment installation and commissioning processes.
• Managing process qualification activities for new production lines.
• Conducting run-at-rate assessments to ensure production efficiency.
• Facilitating Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) procedures.
• Supporting the Start of Production (SOP) and subsequent ramp-up to full-scale manufacturing.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly within the automotive or electric vehicle (EV) sector.
• Demonstrated experience with new production line launches and scaling manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with electric powertrain components such as e-motors, inverters, and integrated e-drive assemblies.

Location and Contract Details

This position is based at a manufacturing site located north of Jeddah, in the Makkah region of Saudi Arabia. This is a contract role extending until the end of 2027, with potential for extension. Work visa support will be provided by the company for the successful candidate.
