About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Manager, Security & Safety to oversee daily departmental operations in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on ensuring the protection of property assets, employees, and guests, while maintaining compliance with legal requirements and standard operating procedures. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily security and loss prevention operations, including patrol processes, emergency response, and investigations for guest and employee incidents.
Administer fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness in coordination with the Director of Engineering.
Conduct hazard and risk assessments, including quarterly OSHA/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and hazard abatement.
Develop and implement detailed "shut down" procedures to secure all property areas at appropriate times.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, safety regulations, and proper key control guidelines.
Maintain a monthly checklist for CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms to ensure full functionality.
Oversee the first aid program for guests and employees and manage the claims process, monitoring General Liability and Worker's Compensation cases.
Train staff in established emergency procedures and implement accident and fire prevention protocols.
Handle complaints, disputes, grievances, and conflicts, and negotiate resolutions.
Monitor unusual activities that could impair the well-being of guests and employees.

Ensuring Customer Service and Team Collaboration

Meet quality standards and customer expectations daily, providing services that enhance satisfaction and retention.
Inspect and critique the performance of the loss prevention department to maintain high professionalism and customer service.
Emphasize teamwork and foster close working relationships with other departments to deter crime.
Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Serve as a role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and utilizing interpersonal skills to lead and influence others.

Operational Management and Communication

Maintain logs, certifications, and documents as required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.
Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems and choose optimal solutions.
Develop and maintain liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services.
Inform and update executives and peers on relevant information in a timely manner.
Communicate the importance of safety procedures, detailing codes, and ensuring employee understanding.

Qualifications and Experience

2-5 years of experience in security and safety management.
Demonstrated ability to manage daily departmental functions effectively.
Proficiency in maintaining required logs, certifications, and documents.
Strong understanding of emergency procedures, accident, and fire prevention.
Ability to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while managing operational budgets.
