Safety Officer

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on maintaining a secure and safe environment across the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access.
• Monitor security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems.
• Lock property entrances as required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR if necessary, and contact EMS.
• Assist guests and employees during emergency situations and notify appropriate individuals of incidents.
• Defuse guest/employee disturbances, calling for outside assistance when necessary.
• Complete incident reports for all Security/Loss Prevention related events and resolve safety hazard situations.
• Escort unwelcome persons from the property without disrupting operations.
• Respond to vehicle accidents/thefts and call for assistance using proper code responses.
• Complete Loss Prevention shift summaries/daily activity reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports, releasing information only to authorized individuals.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.
• Ensure a professional appearance, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests.
• Communicate professionally and prepare accurate written documents.
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects exceeding 75 pounds with assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 0-1 years of experience in a related field.
• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats (*, small print).
• Capability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Proficiency in entering and locating work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
• Completion of safety training and certifications as required.
• Some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements for this position.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, where the Safety Officer will be an integral part of the property's operational team, ensuring safety and security standards are consistently met.

Additional Duties

The Safety Officer will perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors, contributing to the overall safety and smooth operation of the property.
