The Role of Cook Lead

Edition Hotels is seeking a Cook Lead for a full-time position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation. The Cook Lead will also assist management with team oversight and maintain operational standards within the kitchen.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.
• Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Manage food thawing processes by moving items from freezer to refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and garnishes for all dishes.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Provide assistance during busy periods and inform the chef of surplus food items for daily specials.
• Communicate removed items and menu specials to Food and Beverage service staff.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items.

Responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, planning, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions, and complete required safety training.
• Ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs, using clear and courteous language in all communications.
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with peers, collaborate to achieve common goals, and respond appropriately to employee issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements and standards.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and lifting objects up to * kg without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Technical, trade, or professional school diploma.
• Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: Not required for this role.
• License or Certification: None specified.
