Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves executing various maintenance activities on plant equipment, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. The technician will work under the direction of a Mechanical Supervisor or Engineer, contributing to the operational efficiency of power and desalination plants.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities. This includes participation in annual outage and overhauling work on diverse plant equipment. A strong emphasis is placed on safety compliance throughout all tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all NOMAC safety rules and regulations.
• Perform maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, adhering strictly to maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Document maintenance concerns and history for assigned equipment.
• Report spare parts and consumables requirements to the Mechanical Supervisor and update on spare parts availability.
• Ensure proper isolations are carried out before commencing maintenance activities, in coordination with the Mechanical Supervisor and local operator.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and perform maintenance on equipment under jurisdiction.
• Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair various static and rotating mechanical equipment used in power and desalination plants.
• Maintain proper care of tools, lifting equipment, and other related devices required for assigned jobs.
• Carry out all necessary preparations for mechanical maintenance to assigned equipment or areas.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
• Perform 5S housekeeping in the designated work area.
• Execute other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Proven ability to perform maintenance on static and rotating mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety rules and regulations in an industrial plant environment.

Work Conditions

The successful candidate must be prepared to work in a remote location within Saudi Arabia.
