About the Peer Reviewer Role

Fengkai Group Co., Limited is seeking a qualified individual for a part-time, long-term peer review position focused on urban planning. This role supports remote work and requires a strong academic background and a proven track record in scholarly publication.

Role Overview and Context

This position involves the critical evaluation of academic manuscripts within the field of urban planning. The peer reviewer will contribute to maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publications by providing expert assessments. The role is structured as a stable, part-time engagement, offering flexibility through remote work capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the originality and novelty of submitted manuscripts, determining their contribution to the field of urban planning.
• Evaluate the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of study designs and methodologies to ensure reproducibility.
• Verify that manuscripts thoroughly incorporate and cite relevant, up-to-date research within the discipline.
• Analyze the presentation of results and conclusions, ensuring they are clear, data-supported, and significant to the field.
• Provide constructive feedback to authors, highlighting areas for improvement, potential flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
• Make recommendations regarding manuscript publication status (acceptance, revision, or rejection) to the journal editor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in Urban Planning or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• A publication record of at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• A thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles pertinent to urban planning.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
