About the Role

Maaden is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Surveyor to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of survey data essential for ongoing and future mining operations. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in surveying, capable of operating and maintaining advanced equipment to support complex projects.

Role Purpose and Context

The Senior Surveyor plays a vital role in ensuring precise measurements and data collection for mining activities. This involves the accurate setup and operation of surveying equipment, meticulous data recording, and subsequent processing to inform operational decisions. The position is central to providing foundational data that supports the planning and execution of all mining initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize various survey equipment to establish sight points and accurately determine elevations and distances required for mining operations.
• Operate specialized surveying instruments, including theodolites and laser levels, to collect precise measurements and survey data.
• Record all collected data, perform necessary calculations, and submit the results to the supervisor for further analysis and processing.
• Prepare detailed hand drawings of surveyed areas, clearly indicating elevations, distances, and topographical transitions.
• Input survey data into SURPAC software for comprehensive analysis and the development of plans and information crucial for future mining activities.

Equipment and Safety Management

• Ensure all survey equipment is maintained in proper working order, correctly set up, and calibrated for optimal performance.
• Manage and replenish all required survey materials and supplies to ensure continuous and uninterrupted field operations.
• Strictly observe all safety regulations and actively monitor Helpers to ensure their compliance with safety instructions.
• Execute all related duties in line with defined procedures and craft standards, keeping the supervisor regularly informed of work progress.

Performance Outcomes

Success in this role is measured by the consistent delivery of accurate survey measurements, calculations, records, and drawings, all submitted promptly for processing. The effective entry of survey data into SURPAC, making it readily available to support mining plans, is also a key indicator. Furthermore, maintaining survey equipment in optimal condition and ensuring all survey work and Helper activities comply with safety instructions and defined procedures are critical to achieving desired outcomes.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for the Senior Surveyor position should possess 5-10 years of professional experience in surveying, ideally within a large-scale industrial or mining environment. Proficiency in operating a range of surveying equipment, including theodolites and laser levels, is essential. Experience with survey data processing software such as SURPAC is required. A strong understanding of safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance within a field team are also critical for this role.
