Technical Manager

About the Role

Libera Consultants is conducting a search for a Senior Manager – Technical on behalf of a major offshore drilling operator in Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading the strategic and technical oversight of fleet equipment, maintenance, and reliability across offshore rig operations.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Senior Manager – Technical will be responsible for the strategic and technical direction of the fleet's maintenance and reliability function. This includes managing CMMS, well control, Field Support, and capital equipment. The role focuses on driving compliance, ensuring longevity, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the offshore asset base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, goals, and standards for the Technical Support, Well Control, and Maintenance & Reliability departments.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and tools.
• Oversee the implementation of SAP CMMS and standardized maintenance practices across the fleet.
• Direct offshore Field Support teams in their work supporting rig-based mechanical, electrical, and well control integrity.
• Develop 5-year equipment inspection and maintenance philosophies.
• Provide strategic technical input for annual maintenance budgets.
• Lead investigations into equipment downtime incidents and oversee corrective actions.
• Evaluate new technologies for potential implementation on rigs.
• Support SPS, reactivation, and upgrade projects across the fleet.

Required Experience

• Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in offshore drilling operations, specifically in technical management, maintenance, and reliability.

This is a full-time position based in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading operations for a major offshore drilling operator.
