About the Role

Sheraton is seeking an AsstMgr-Restaurants to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role involves assisting in the daily supervision of restaurant operations, including Restaurants/Bars and Room Service where applicable. The Assistant Manager will contribute to menu planning, maintain sanitation standards, and support servers and hosts during peak meal periods, with a focus on continually improving guest and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising daily shift operations and manage the restaurant and related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met and provide feedback based on service behaviors.
• Handle employee questions and concerns, and communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions.
• Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and maintain compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures.
• Communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor alcohol beverage service to ensure compliance with local laws.
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, and handle guest problems and complaints.
• Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Participate in department meetings to communicate departmental goals and ensure desired results.
• Determine training needs, implement plans, and supervise ongoing training initiatives using available on-the-job tools.
• Open and close restaurant shifts and perform duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in restaurant operations or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise daily operations and manage a team.
• Experience in menu planning and maintaining sanitation standards.
• Proficiency in analyzing information and evaluating results to solve problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates.
