About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Banquet Supervisor-Audio Visual to join their team. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and involves overseeing all audio-visual aspects for banquet events, ensuring seamless operation and guest satisfaction. The role focuses on the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment, as well as providing support and guidance to guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify AV equipment inventory before events and ensure all necessary items are available.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all audio-visual equipment, devices, and systems.
• Ensure equipment is fully operational, performing repairs and cleaning as needed.
• Manage cabling by taping down loose wires and labeling broken equipment for repair.
• Cross-reference delivered equipment and room setup against the Banquet Event Order.
• Communicate any additions or deletions to flowsheets effectively.
• Break down, remove, and secure equipment post-event.
• Set up and maintain the property’s portable audio system and operate the house audio system.
• Assist and instruct guests on the proper usage and operation of AV equipment.
• Actively up-sell AV services and monitor equipment operation during events.
• Adhere to the Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book.

Operational and Leadership Duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Serve as a role model and initial point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance meet professional standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, preparing and reviewing accurate written documents.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, supporting the team to achieve common goals.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.

Physical Requirements and Skills

• Ability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Capable of reaching, grasping, turning, manipulating, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Proficiency in entering and locating information using computers/POS systems.
• Ability to move up and down stairs/service ramps.

General Expectations

The Banquet Supervisor-Audio Visual is expected to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors, contributing to the overall success of banquet operations and guest experience at The Ritz-Carlton.
