The Intern Data Engineer Role

This is a full-time engineering role with genuine responsibilities, not a course or a shadowing program. Intern Data Engineers at Tabby contribute to the analytics and data platforms that underpin business decisions, product development, and machine learning applications. This encompasses data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, and data consumption by various internal teams.

Internship Overview

The internship program is designed for early-career engineers who demonstrate strong potential and aspire to grow into data engineering roles. Interns will join an active data team, work with production datasets, and are expected to meet established engineering standards from the outset. This role requires a full-time level of engagement. Students may coordinate class or exam schedules with their mentor in advance, but performance, ownership, and involvement are expected at a full-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain analytical data models.
• Work with SQL-based transformations and data pipelines.
• Contribute to data quality checks and validation logic.
• Assist in building and maintaining data products utilized by business and engineering teams.
• Work with orchestration tools and scheduled data workflows.
• Participate in discussions regarding data modeling, metrics, and definitions.
• Investigate data issues and help identify root causes.
• Improve the reliability and cost efficiency of data processing.
